Karen is one of the Coordinators
of the Speech and Language Services since 2007, and a
Speech-Language Pathologist at the Center since 2001. She provides therapy in both the
school-based program and the outpatient program. She graduated from
Florida State University in the summer of 2001 with a Masters in
Communication Sciences. She received her Bachelor of Science in
Speech Pathology from James Madison University in December 1998.
Karen received her Certificate of Clinical Competence form ASHA
during the summer of 2002.
Karen enjoys working with
children of all ages and watching each child grow and expand their
communication abilities. She recognizes that all children have
different strengths and weaknesses and tailors each child’s therapy
to the personality and interest of the child.
Sue is also one of the
Coordinators of the Speech and Language Services since 2007, and joined the staff in the
summer of 2001 and works as Speech-Language Pathologist at the
Center. She attended
Boston College and received a Bachelor of Art in Psychology in
1992. Sue always wanted to work with children so she moved to
Virginia and attended George Washington University and received her
Master of Art in Speech-Language Pathology in 1994. Sue received
her Certificate of Clinical Competence in 1995. Sue worked with the
Fairfax County Public School System for eight years.
Sue enjoys
her work with all children and their families. She also enjoys
working part-time which allows her to spend time with her two young
sons.
